Permanent exhibition
The Museum’s collections (wholly renovated in 2009) are on show in seven halls on the ground floor. They are arranged by date and subject.
- Hall A: 19th century Greek insurrectionary movements in Macedonia
- Hall B: Macedonian Society at the turn of the 19th century
- Hall C: Greece’ s Consulate-General at Thessaloniki, The Consul-General ‘s Office (reconstruction)
- Hall D: Characteristics of the Struggle, The recruiting of the Greek bands
- Hall E: The struggle in town and village. Special features of the Greek Struggle in town and countryside; the role of the clergy
- Hall F: The end of the armed Macedonian struggle. The Balkan Wars and the incorporation of Macedonia into the Hellenic state
- Hall G: Hellenic Macedonia in the 20th Century. From the end of the Balkan Wars to the present
In the Multi-Purpose hall on the first floor (wholly renovated in 2003 thanks to a generous donation from the Stavros Niarchos Foundation) are:
- Temporary exhibitions
- Showings of the film the Struggle for Macedonia (in Greek, English, French and German)
- The audiovisual teaching movie A Journey with Pavlos Melas through Macedonia.
The stairwells are hung with portraits of leading Greek Makedonomachoi, including officers and NCOs of the Greek Army and ordinary citizens.
Finally downstairs there are four life-size diorama depicting scenes from the Macedonian Struggle.
