Athens-Skopje 1995-2002. An uneasy symbiosis (2002-2003).

This programme studied relations between the two countries, on all levels, as they developed after the restoration of diplomatic relations in 1995. It was funded by the Foundation for the Museum of the Macedonian Struggle, and carried out by a team of 7 specialists, most of them university professors. The results were announced at a conference in Athens in March 2003, the acts of which were published in Greek in 2003 and in English in 2005.

Digitisation and utilisation of the archival collections of the Museum of the Macedonian Struggle (2005-2006).

Programme funded by the European Community. Under this programme the photographic archives of the Museum of the Macedonian Struggle were digitised and documented and made available to the general public through the Museum's Internet server; in addition, two CD-Roms were produced, in Greek, German and English, with new essays by Greek historians on the ancient, mediaeval and modern history of Macedonia, plus an educational game on the Macedonian Struggle in the marshes of Yannitsa. The project involved 40 specialists (university staff, doctoral candidates and graduate students, and cost € 600,000.

Digitisation and enhancement of the Museum's collection of photographs, Places and people of Macedonia (1890-1940) (2005-2006).

Programme funded by the European Community. Programme budget: € 70,000.

Macedonian Identities Yesteday-Today-Tomorrow (2005-2006).

The aim of this programme is to establish a complete record of occurrences of the terms 'Macedonia', 'Macedonian', etc. from antiquity to modern times, both by Greeks and by other peoples, to assess the current situation on all levels and to make trustworthy proposals on matters of bilateral economic relations, commercial law, international relations, etc. The programme involves 15 researchers (primarily university staff and leading figures in the various domains) and is sponsored by Mihaniki Engineering SA.

Mount Athos in the years of national strife 1900-1912 (2002-2006).

Pilot programme carried out in collaboration with the Athonite Monastery of Simonopetra with the object of ascertaining and making known the real situation obtaining on Mount Athos during the period from the beginning of the 20th century to its liberation in 1912.
